Vandex Super Cementitious Crystalline Waterproofing (25 kg) - Tremco

Vandex Super is a cementitious, ready-mixed, in-depth crystalline waterproofer based on grey Portland cement, specially treated quartz sand and a compound of active chemicals. When applied to a concrete surface, the active chemicals react with free lime and capillary moisture to form insoluble crystalline complexes that block capillaries and minor shrinkage cracks - creating a permanently active barrier against water ingress, even under positive or negative water pressure.

The treated concrete continues to "breathe" - water vapour can still pass through the structure - while liquid water, sea water, waste water and aggressive ground water are stopped. Approved for use in drinking water structures. Compliant with EN 1504-3 (Class R3, 25 MPa) as a CC fine mortar for non-structural concrete repair.

Packaging & Shelf Life

Supplied in 25 kg PE-lined paper bags. Shelf life is 12 months when stored in a dry place in unopened, undamaged original packaging.

How to Use (Brief)

1. Substrate must be sound, even, open-pored and roughened. Remove all bitumen, oil, grease, paint and laitance. Stop active leaks first with VANDEX PLUG.
2. Pre-saturate the substrate so it is damp but not wet. Remove standing water on horizontal surfaces.
3. Mix 5 parts Vandex Super to ~2 parts water by volume in a clean container with a mechanical mixer for at least 3 minutes to a thick-paint consistency. Do not re-temper with water - only re-stir.
4. Apply by brush (cross-wise: vertical bottom-up, then horizontal), by spray with a fine-mortar spraying device (4 mm nozzle), or by dry sprinkle & power trowel onto fresh concrete at initial set.
5. Apply the second coat while the first is still surface-damp. Do not apply below +5 °C or to a frozen substrate.
6. Cure: Keep damp for at least 5 days. Protect from rain for 24 h, and from sun, wind and frost. Backfill after 3 days. Fill water-retaining structures only after surface treatment has hardened - typically not less than 14 days.
